Thruxton Gang Challenge (please read)

Postby LEAKER on Tue Mar 09, 2010 8:29 pm

AHRMA friends;

You may have noticed that the Thruxton crew is a tight bunch. We race together, pit together, caravan together, and at moments like this we stand tall together.
Injured racer "Skip" Bradley is not a Thruxton guy, but he's an AHRMA guy, and that's enough for us to issue this challenge. Our Thruxton email list is 19 racers long. In the 30 minutes following our initial call to action we had $400.00 in donations pledged. This is a FAST brunch of guys!

So, we throw down the gauntlet. Let's see another racing class better our efforts.
Our group welcomes input on the most appropriate use of these donations. If anyone is in touch with Skip's family please advise us and we will follow your lead.
What I don't want to do is turn this into a benevolent fund discussion. Let's keep our energy positive, Skip and his family need it....

I'll update this as our gang responds....you are officially challenged!

The Thruxton Gang....

(there is no shortcut to good Karma...)

Thanks Roger, good idea....

Funds are arriving here in Ithaca and I'll start chasing down the balance due at the end of the week if necessary. If anyone would care to join our effort you are certainly welcome to do so.

I would hope to have the "Thruxton Crew & Friends" donation ready to transmit to Skip's family by the end of next week (March 25th).

Thanks to everyone for the overwhelming support.

Great job guy's!
I'll be putting up $100 as an individual, and I will post up the info here on Skip's paypal account as soon as I get it from his wife Jan. I posted on the "Skip" thread about visiting him on Sunday, he's progressing, but he does have a long road ahead and will be needing all the financial help they can get.
Again guy's, great job!

The sizable pile of checks is growing here in Ithaca. The "Thruxton Crew & Friends" will be sending $1500.+ to Skip's family by weeks end. As I've said before, this is a special bunch of guys....

The Thruxton Gang (current AND past) was able to PP $1250. to Jan this morning. Some Thruxton folks it seems chose to donate directly. Of course any additional funds received will be transmitted to Jan ASAP.

Our prayers for Skip & family continue...

Steve, thanks from all of us for providing this forum, this community.
